“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well” (Psalm 139:14). The human body is a marvel of craftsmanship. Every second, hundreds of different processes are going on in our bodies without our knowledge or control. Blood flows through arteries, veins, and capillaries, carrying life-giving oxygen and food to cells. It carries the carbon dioxide away from the cells to be exhaled through the lungs.

But in spite of the wonderful way that we are created, the effects of sin are evident in the human body. Bodies get sick. Diseases and accidents are part of our fallen world. This unit examines some diseases and causes of accidents and some of the ways that we can avoid them. Ultimately though, all healing comes from God.
