Tuesday-Review propaganda techniques and newspaper style.

Propaganda Examples-Find examples of the 7 types of propaganda and put them on a Word document.  Make sure to label them.

Wednesday-Begin Grammar Unit on Subject Verb Agreement.

Today we begin Flowers for Algernon, a science fiction short story about a man who is the subject of a scientific experiment.

Read pages 310-318

 Homework for Tuesday- Write a 2 paragraph response to one of the following theme statements:

It is better to be smart and lonely than unintelligent and happy.

Our relationships with other people, not our achievements, are what fulfill us.

It is important to have empathy for others.

It is better to accept your fate than to try to change it.

 

 

 

Hi Everyone,

I hope you enjoyed searching through the media center for a new book today. Remember it needs to be a  historical fiction book.  It’s okay if it is not exactly at your lexile score; just make sure it’s a book you will find interesting.

We will be finishing our study of Edgar Allen Poe and our reading of The Tell-Tale Heart.  See if you can find some of the Gothic elements in the story as we finish it. 

Friday, January 27

We will watch a biography about Edgar Allen Poe and discuss how his life may have contributed to his writing style.
