Art21:Teaching and Learning with Contemporary Art

Educators from districts throughout Ottawa County joined together at the OAISD on Monday for a wonderful presentation by Joe Fusaro, Senior Education Advisor for Art21.

The day-long workshop focused on using the Art21 series to enhance teaching practices through Contemporary Art.

Educators had the privilege of viewing several segments from Art21 Season 5 (which has not even aired on PBS!).  They shared thoughts about the videos and ideas for using the series in their individual or district classroooms.

With the enthusiams created from this experience, we are hoping to stay connected with Joe and Art21 to continue the learning throughout the year and into the next!

If you were a participant in the workshop, please post a comment and share your thoughts!

    Hey, Susan,.
It was a great day and well worth the time and money! The ideas and materials I recieved will have an impact on my curriculum, which right now is a little long on “dead white guys” and needing the life of some practicing contemporary artists, expecially in their own images and words! Thanks for encouraging me to go!
