Important Dates: We will be having a Science/Math Fair on Thursday, March 25 in the evening. Please keep that date open!
6th Science: We have begun our second Battle Creek Science Unit, Planet Rock. The students have had a lot of fun learning about the different aspects of the rock cycle using their pet rocks and a crayon model. As we move forward, we will be learning about
6th Social Studies: The start of a new year marks the start of a new unit in social studies. We will be learning about The United States and Canada over the next month or two. This unit focuses on the cultures and geography of the two regions, while the history is covered in 5th and 8th grade. The students will be creating a North American Physical Map during the first few weeks in January, be sure to stop by and see them once they are finished.
7th Science: After taking a break from Heredity to learn about and eat some cells (Jell-O cells), we are going to return to our study of Heredity. We will learn some specifics about how cells multiply and use the information encoded in their DNA.
8th Math: We have been doing a lot of algebra recently. This will continue into the new year with solving and simplifying equations.
8th Science: We are still plugging along in our study of Human Health and Biology. During the month of January we will be learning about the circulatory and respiratory systems. It honestly amazes me more and more every year how God has created our bodies. What an amazing creation we are!
