6th Social Studies:  The students just finished a physical map of North America in which they labeled and drew many of the geographic features of our great continent.  Stop in sometime in the next few weeks and check them out, the students did a great job!  As we move forward in the coming month we will be learning more about the geography, culture, and history of the United States and Canada.

6th Science:  We are having a blast in our Planet Rock unit!  The students have learned a lot about the Rock Cycle and how different rocks are formed.  The students are taking that knowledge they learned to write a story about their pet rock’s life.  As we move forward in this unit we will be learning about destructive and constructive forces that affect the Earth’s surface.  I am excited about some of the fun activities we will be doing over the coming weeks.

7th Science:  We have been learning about one of the toughest concepts the students will come across this year, DNA.  Understanding the role DNA plays in our cells and bodies and how our cells works is not an easy thing to comprehend.  I have a few fun activities and lessons planned that will hopefully help!

8th Science:  We are still in the midst of our study of the human body.  We are just about done with the circulatory system and will be moving on to the respiratory, immune, and nervous systems in the coming weeks.

8th Math:  We have spent a lot of time solving equations and working with variables in the past weeks, and this will be the case in the coming weeks as well.  We will continue to study algebraic ideas and concepts that the students will continue to use the rest of their lives.
