Metals I
Weekly Assignments:
May 7-11: Work on lab activities including center punch. Work on Bill of Materials.
April 30 – May 4: Progress reports on Monday. Each student must have 4 lab assignments turned in or F on progress report. Work in lab of activities all week.
April 23 – 26: Work on individual lab projects. Each student should have in four projects by the end of the week for mid-marks.
April 16 – 20: Work in lab on individual activities: arc welding; mig welding; gas welding; foundry; or threading.
April 9-13: Finish gas welding and metal casting demonstrations. Start working in the lab on Friday.
March 19-23: All lab activities are due on Thursday/Last day of marking period.
March 12-16: All lab work is due March 22. Open labs available.
Feb. 5-9: 2 1/2 weeks to complete lab work: dust pan; name plate; cutting torch; and cnc pattern.
Feb. 27 – March 2:Work on four lab activities. 3 1/2 weeks to complete all activities.
Feb. 20-24: Working in lab on activities: CNC pattern, nameplate, cutting torch, or dust pan. All work is due March 21.
Feb. 13-17: Cardboard dustpans are do by Wednesday. Work on lab activities.
Feb. 6-10: Demonstration this week on brazing, cutting and forming of sheet metal, and making a pattern on the CNC machine. Unit 10 Sheet Metal is due on Tuesday. Start working in the lab at the end of the week.
Jan. 30: Torch start-up and shut-down quiz. Make safety poster. Complete unit 2 “Metals We Use”.
Jan. 23: Learn procedure for oxy/acetylene torch start-up and shutdown. Quiz later in the week.
