Welcome Fourth Graders and Parents,

I am so excited to start another year of fourth grade.  We are going to learn so many new things this year. In reading, we will be working not only in our reading series but also reading literature books in groups and as a class. In science, we will be studying organisms, earth science, electricity and magnetism, and states of matter. In social studies, we will work on regions and learn about Michigan. Math curriculum will expand on what the students learned in third grade. They will be required to learn their basic math facts. By the end of the fourth grade, they should be able to correctly do 100 fact problems within four minutes.  On top of curriculum , we will be experiencing art, gym, computers, and Spanish. We will also go on a field trip to Lansing to view the capital building and go to the Michigan Historical Museum. It is going to be an exciting year. I can’t wait to meet everyone. I hope to see you at the Open House on September 1st from 5:30-7:00 P.M. in room S-18.
