Sunny Days!
Here are some fun outdoor activities to help you practice what your child has learned during Kindergarten!
1. Letter practice-”Mystery Letter”
Use sidewalk chalk or a squirt gun to review numbers and letters. Parents make the sound of the “mystery letter” while students write or squirt the letter on the pavement.
2. Making Predictions-”Sink or Float”
Fill up a bucket with water from outside. Go on a hunt to find various things in your backyard! (Leaves, sticks, rocks etc.) Place each item in the bucket of water one at a time-but don’t forget to predict if the item will sink or float BEFORE you place it in the bucket!
3. Counting Practice-”Sprinkler fun”
Practice counting by 2′s, 5′s, and 10′s as you take leaps through the sprinkler! Better yet-get a friend to count every other number with you, just like the “partner count” game we played in Kindergarten!
4. Counting Practice-”A Weed Indeed”
Practice counting by 2′s as you pull weeds out of the garden two at a time! If your mom doesn’t have enough weeds-ask permission to visit Mrs. Visker’s garden!
