4th Grade Supply List
Summer, 2011
Dear Parents and soon-to-be 4th Graders!
I hope and pray that you will have a good summer and will enjoy the warm weather! I am looking forward to being your child’s teacher this fall and getting to know both you and your 4th grader!
Parents, since summer tends to speed by so quickly, I thought you would appreciate the 4th Grade Supply List right away so that you can take advantage of the summer sales. Here are the REQUIRED supplies that your 4th grader will need. I also have added an OPTIONAL list if you wish to provide these items for your child, but they are not required. Finally, I am including a few items (WISH LIST) that would be very nice to have in our classroom if you are able and interested in contributing them.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES (ALL 4th graders will NEED to have the following items:)
-Trapper Keeper style binder (with zipper)
-Pencil Pouch to fit inside Trapper Keeper
-Pencils and Erasers (Will need enough for entire year. Often students are out of good pencils part way through the year…it would be a good idea to buy several boxes on sale now and keep them at home for when they are needed later in the year.) Mechanical pencils will not be allowed.
-Washable Markers (I’ve found Crayola to be the best washable marker)
-Scissors (small)
-Pocket Folders (6) with holes punched to fit in Trapper Keeper (Please do not label them…we will do that together at school. Also, please try to get 6 different colors or designs to make it easier for your child to keep apart)
-TX30X11s (Texas Instruments) SOLAR calculator (a limited number will be available at school for $15 each, but you can easily get this cheaper on your own. Please be sure it is exactly the same model/type, etc…)
-New International Version Bible (This was given to your child in 3rd grade by MCS)
-Inside Shoes and Gym Shoes
-Backpack (Not too large…they MUST fit inside our lockers. Also, no wheels on backpacks)
-Field Trip fees will be collected the first week of school. (Amount yet to be determined)
OPTIONAL SUPPLIES (Not required but nice to have your very own!)
-Crayons and/or colored pencils
-Scotch tape
-Glue sticks
-Pens
-Protractor and compass
-Extra erasers for when the ones on the pencils are used up
-Small pencil box to fit in desk for supplies (We don’t have a lot of space inside out desks so please keep this small)
CLASSROOM WISH LIST
(Needed items that can be donated if you wish and are able…would be SO appreciated for our classroom!)
-Gift cards from Best Buy to purchase photo paper and ink for the classroom camera/printer (We take pictures throughout the year of your child for your child’s portfolio which you will receive at the end of the year)
-Individually wrapped candy for the CANDY JAR (no chocolate or gum please)
-Small fun gift items for our prize box (i.e. small toys, stickers, etc…)
-Large bottles of hand sanitizer
-Ziploc Baggies
-Napkins, paper plates, paper cups
