Questions to Ponder

Questions to ponder:

1.  What is the one word that best describes this experience for you?

2.  How does this journey connect or integrate into your daily life?

3.  Reflecting back on your most memorable experience while wrecking…what do you notice?

4.  Any other thoughts?

Week 5-Journal Wrecking Continued

I drew with glue!  Then, added some color and really like the way it looks.

It is wonderful to know that you are all out there, connecting through a similar experience.  Thank you for taking the time to stretch yourself a bit, to explore, and to take a risk.  I have heard from many of you, and have truly enjoyed learning about your journal wrecking experience.  Please add a comment here!  or a new post, if you wish.

I am looking forward to connecting next week via conference call!  I will email you all soon with the date/time.  The call will be recorded and I will place it on this blog, so that you can listen in to the conversation at a later date.

This blog will remain open.  Wondering if your journal wrecking will end here, or continue on into the next months.  Wondering how these moments will connect with you as you continue to journey along through your days.

Connecting with Others

Burning journals with magnifying glasses!

Here is what is left!

Here is what is left!

Going to burn it until it is all gone!

Going to burn it until it is all gone!

My sons have their own journals…they used magnifying glasses to burn their pages!  Saw Mom use matches…they started with that…but thought magnifyers would be fun to try!

Have you shared your “journal wrecking” experience with others?  I know some of you have written about doing just that!

Pictures of fall wrecking….

Bye bye, book!

Bye bye, book!

My toddler and I enjoyed the fall weather… And the wrecking of a journal.

Week 3 and Week 4

Burning (destroying)/Gluing final piece left after burning (creativity)/Reflecting on, “what does burning a page have to do with creativity?”/(exploration)

Destruction/Creativity/Exploration

Were you able to destruct a part of your journal?  What does this have to do with creativity?  What elements of your life are you exploring on this journey?

(Please add your comments to this post!)

Remember:  Each of us has spoken on the idea of attachment.  Whether it is destroying a “sacred” book, creating a picture we like within our journal (and then not wanting to take it into the shower!), worry over “wrecking” something that we made…that we like…that we do not wish to change.

Wherever you are in this journey, whatever you do that stretches you, is yours.  Everyone here is unique.  Each stretch is different for each person.  We are the experts on our own stretches.  Wherever you find yourself, is just right.

Student Wrecking….

Post by Liz

I’ll give this a try. The first “entry” for me was the dirt page – “rub here with dirt.”  I don’t know why I started there, but it was appealing. What I found was that it wasn’t the dirt-rubbing that bothered me, but the reminder of how long it had been since I worked in my garden (that was where I got the dirt). It made me sad. Really enjoyed the “punching holes” page, but I wanted to decide where to punch – didn’t use the marked circles.  I can’t keep myself from dating each entry.

Wrecking BLAST!!

Quick!

Take a moment from your full busy day!  Write something in the comments here telling us one page you tried in your journal!

Week 2-Part 2: Challenge

poking holes

Challenge:

What is the most challenging thing in this journal for you?  Why is it challenging?  What would happen if you went right to that challenge, jumped into your fear and did it?

Are you up for the challenge?

This week…break into your fears and take the challenge!  Let us know what you notice, whatever happens! Post your comments here.
